Located at the crossroad of several ancient trade routes, Aleppo is one of the world’s oldest cities with Arab, Turkish, Roman, French, and Persian influences that have shaped the cultural heritage.
For 4 000 years, Syrian Artisans and Craftsmen have made this natural soap of olive- and laurel oil, and one of the ancient city of Aleppo’s most significant contribution may be as the birthplace of soap. It is also known as ‘Savon D’Alep’, ‘Laurel Soap’, and ‘Ghar Soap’.
The ingredients are mixed in winter, during the harvest season, and set to sun-dry for 9 months. During the drying process, the color of the soap turns from green into beige, while preserving its natural antibiotic qualities.
The soap is a purely natural remedy for all skin types, and due to its softening properties of the olive- and laurel oil, it will comfort the most sensitive skin. The laurel oil is an effective cleanser that together with the olive oil helps to nourish and purify the face, body, and hair. It is a universal product with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-blushing, calming, and soothing properties.
